Holidays 25 - 31 June 2018 --- Mykonos is a Greek island, part of the Cyclades, lying between Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos. The island spans an area of 85.5 square kilometres (33.0 sq mi) and rises to an elevation of 341 metres (1,119 feet) at its highest point. There are 10,134 inhabitants (2011 census), most of whom live in the largest town, Mykonos, which lies on the west coast. The town is also known as Chora i.e. the Town in Greek, following the common practice in Greece when the name of the island itself is the same as the name of the principal town. Mykonos's nickname is "The Island of the Winds".

Czech tennis star Tomas Berdych says his struggle with back pain has caused him to pull out of next week's Wimbledon tournament. Tomas Berdych, the 2010 Wimbledon runner-up, has pulled out of the grass-court Grand Slam tournament because of a bad back. Berdych announced his withdrawal on Twitter, saying he has been "struggling with back pain" for a couple of months. The 23rd-ranked Czech lost in the final at the All England Club eight years ago to Rafael Nadal. Berdych also was a semifinalist at Wimbledon each of the past two years. He says he tried various treatments for his back, but he is not in good enough health to compete. The draw for Wimbledon is Friday. Play begins next week.

Wimbledon 2018: Tomas Berdych pulls out with back injury --- Tomas Berdych has been forced to pull out of Wimbledon with a back injury. The Czech, who was beaten by champion Roger Federer in last year's semi-finals and who lost the 2010 final to Rafael Nadal, said he has had back pain for "a couple of months". The 32-year-old world number 19 is expected to be out for several weeks. "I was very much looking forward to Wimbledon," Berdych posted on social media. "My attempts to get ready for the grass season were not successful." Wimbledon runs at the All England Club in London from 2-15 July.

2016 Wimbledon finalist Milos Raonic found his best tennis under the most pressure to beat Tomas Berdych 7-6(2), 7-6(1), winning seven of eight points on the third seed's serve in the tie-breaks. In a serve-dominated match, neither player managed to even score a break point off of each others' serve as they raced to the tie-break. Eventually, the Canadian prevailed in both sets, winning the tiebreaks comfortably.

STUTTGART Thursday, June 14, 2018 --- Berdych Ends Losing Streak, Moves Into Stuttgart QFs ---- Berdych snapped a five-match losing streak, defeating Frenchman Benoit Paire 7-6(3), 6-4 to set the battle against Raonic. The No. 3 seed, who has reached back-to-back Wimbledon semi-finals, had not lost five consecutive matches since the end of 2004 through the beginning of 2005, when he dropped six in a row. At the time, the Czech was just 19 years old. But he bounced back on the Stuttgart grass, dropping just six first-serve points and saving the only break point he faced to move past the World No. 47. "It was a tough one. He's a very talented player. You really don't know until the last moment what's going to come up. He's very talented, all the shots he can make. For the first time after such a long time, to play him, it's not easy. But I'm glad that I had a good test and I think I played very well throughout the whole match," Berdych said. Berdych now leads Paire 3-0 in their FedEx ATP Head2Head series after defeating the Frenchman in their first meeting since Roland Garros in 2015. The Czech showed good form early in the season, reaching at least the quarter-finals at three of his first four tournaments. Berdych seeks his first ATP World Tour title since the Shenzhen Open in 2016.
